We started amber spree because we saw too many animals receiving adequate care when they deserved exceptional care.
amber spree began in 2014 when Dr. Caroline Ashworth left a corporate veterinary practice to create something different. She'd spent twelve years watching rushed appointments, protocol-driven treatments, and profit-centered decisions overshadow what mattered most: the individual animal.
Starting with a single examination room in Portsmouth, she built a practice around a simple principle—spend enough time with each pet to actually understand what's happening. That meant longer appointments, more diagnostic testing, and a willingness to say "I need more information" instead of prescribing standard treatments.
Today, amber spree serves over 2,800 clients across the South Coast. We've expanded our team, but we haven't expanded appointment volumes. Quality doesn't scale by adding more patients per hour.

Our average appointment runs 45 minutes. Most clinics schedule 15. That difference shows up in outcomes.
Regular wellness visits catch conditions early, when they're easiest and least expensive to treat.
Medical terminology doesn't impress us. Making sure you understand your pet's condition and options does.
